How do you keep country information neutral and objective?
We want our Country Guides to be a fair, balanced resource for everyone, wherever they're from.
We stay apolitical
Our guides only include information that's supported by established cultural theory. We don't take political positions, and our aim is to help you understand how people work, not to judge it.
Countries and territories
Some guides cover areas that aren't independent nation states, such as Scotland, because they have a distinct culture worth understanding. This isn't intended as a political statement. Where a territory's name or status is disputed, we follow United Nations naming conventions.
Tendencies, not stereotypes
Every guide describes general patterns within a country, not rules about individuals. People are shaped by much more than their nationality, so we always encourage you to get to know the people you're working with too.
